Question Prestone Flush Kit Question

Hello,

I have a 98 Explorer, 4WD, 4.0L SOHC with 98,000 miles. I would like to install a Prestone flush & fill kit (to make it easy to flush the system), but am not sure which hose is which. Here's a photo of what I believe are the two heater hoses coming from the firewall (numbered 1 & 2).
Hose #1 is stamped "ENG UPR" and hose #2 is stamped "ENG LWR". I can't tell by looking at them which one goes into the engine and which one goes into the water pump.

Can anyone help me out with this -- which one is supposed to be cut?

Any other tips or suggestions are appreciated as well, because I've never done this before.

Thanks!
Sandy

Hi Sandy,

Hose #2 ENG LWR should be the hose going to the water pump. Thus, that is the "return" line.

Good luck with your project...please post back with picture's the final results.
