They should go to 250,0000-300,000 if you can keep gas in them and take care of the motor but im still wondering how far everyone on here has made it hmm.
210,000 miles. Runs well but the cam and lifters are worn and get a tick when the engines cold. I have a fresh EFI 460 in my shed ready to go in. I bought the truck with 200,000 miles on it for $2000. I figured IF I had to put a fresh rebuild ($900) it is worth it. The truck was worked very hard in its day. Heck it didnt even have an air filter on it when I bought it!
Our company truck is a 460 crew cab dually w/170,000 but has used oil like a siv for about 20,000 (since we bought it) still, this truck has pulled a 49 foot 13 ton trailer since we got it and hasn't increased it's oil consumption one bit in that time.
We have a F-Super Duty (450) at work that has a 460 in it. It has 240,000 KILOMETRES on it and it burns oil pretty bad. We have to add 1-2 quarts everyday we take it out. It's crazy! Runs great though besides that!
Brother has a 89 f-350 with a 460. Truck has 180,000 miles and on it second 460. This one has 70,000 on it and the last whent 110,000. But it was run out of oil by the lat owner i think. And it was plowed hard. The new one is great though.\
