03 - Removing Storage Bin Power Point

Does anyone know how to remove the 12 volt power point, and surround, below the climate controls in the storage bin, on an 03 Expy? I'm going to try to add a light switch there.

You will have to remove the entire floor console. It's covered in the Ford DVD. There are two screws under the rubber mat in the tray and two at floor level on the sides. Loosen the console and unplug the wires. Good Luck!

I got around to installing the switch tonight.

To get the cover off you remove the rubber storage area liner, and remove the one bolt. Then pull and pull until you can't pull anymore and the cover will come off. Producing...

I put the switch for the Daylighters...

Nice, I will try and remove that console so I can install the wiring for my CD changer, most installers want to charge extra because they have to remove it to run the wiring to put the changer in the center console. Then I'll just pay them to put in the radio and then say "by the way could you just plug in my changer while your back there" That will save me 75.00 bucks at Circuit City
