Crankshaft pulley
Two questions
98 F-150 4.2 85,000 miles
1) my crankshaft pulley has fallen off twice in the past two years. Does anybody have a clue what might be causing it.
2) how hard would it be to drop in a carbureted 302 in place of the crappy six.
Any help in these two matters would be great.

Hi and welcome to FTE 
2) It would be a nightmare trying to put a 302 in there. You would basically have to rewire the truck because all of the gauges, tach, speedo, etc are all controlled by the computer. The tranny would also have to be changed and alot of fab work done just to even mount the thing in there. None of the accesories would work either, you would either have to fab new brackets or reconfigure everything to hok up to the earlier model stuff, like alt wiring, PS and a/c hoses etc.
1) Is the whole assembly falling off or is just the outer ring coming off?
