Heater Core/Blend Door Fun

Heater Core Fun
My air ducts only shoot hot (the hottest) air, even when the AC is on Max, and all defrost/ heating/ venting modes. Since it's January in Minnesota, this is not too much of a problem, but spring will be here in about another 8 months....
I have replaced the temp control ****/potentiometer-- no go.
I suspect the heater core's blend door is stuck or broken.
Do I have to replace the whole heater core? (I'm prepared to find a used one)
