Definitions aside...wd40 is a terrible lubricant. the small residue it leaves behind will deteriorate in seconds of uv exposure. It's also a solvant, it'll eat away any existing lubricant on a door hinge or such. The only thing i'll use the stuff for these days is spraying parts down that i'm storing and want to keep rust off of, or curing lock cylinders with ice in them.

I agree, it's great stuff, however I can't seem to find it around here anymore. Even had two local parts stores call their supplier, no luck..... Who has it by you?
I used the last of mine on the screw of my Automatic G-Door Opener, you wouldn't believe how quiet and smooth it now operates.
I even Emailed Valvoline about where I can get it...got no reply!
