Axle removal out of a nine inch

Hey fellas, I'm trying to remove the axle out of my 76's rear end.
I've removed the drums and the nuts that are supposed to release everything. Only problem, the axle won't budge. Any ideas.

I'm posting this here because the replies in other sections aren't 76 specific.

I have used a tow chain fastened to the studs then "crack the whip" with the chain. Make sure you replace the wheel bearing after using a BFH, slide hammer, or this method. Impact loading the bearings in this way destroys them. It may not show up for a while but sooner or later you will get a rumble...
