IS ANYBODY ELSE HAVING THIS PROBLEM !!! My 97 F-150 is on it's 3 wiper assembly and the truck has 178,000 miles. I know I live in Michigan, but come-on FORD ENGINEERS. Bushings all worn out, wiper won't stay on windshield at highway speeds. These assemblies are A PIECE OF WORK. Does anybody have any other solution for this problem? I have registered this complaint with THE GREAT FORD MOTOR COMPANY with each replacement and ofcourse I THE ONLY ONE HAVING SUCH PROBLEM ! I feel alittle better now so I guess I'll have another BEER !
Ok, I'm almost over it now (lot-o-beers later). The bushings that hold the crank for the wiper arms through the panel wear out and have lots of slop in them. This causes little or no pressure on the windshield wipers and excessive wiper noise. Dealer says it is not repairable and has to be replaced as a unit. 200.00 bills later plus labor it works for about 2.5 years. Doesn't FORD have a buy it once program for this assembly? Thanks fo the feed back.
