I just bought a 89 bronco with a 351 with 120,000 miles. What is a good site for replacement and performance parts for the bronco. This is my first and I love it already but it needs some love.
yes congradulations i am on my 3rd myself 1st 88 5.0 FREEBEE 250,000 RIP (in my back yard) 2nd 88 5.8 80,000 6months worth of road then blown rearend and intake gasket (also in my back yard a.k.a Engine storage) and 3rd but not fianal at least i hope not 1990 5.8 XLT 150,000 mint interior/exterior $1300 a steal even though it just decided it dosnt want to idle :P
would a hole in the muffler make it run or sound choppy? It get ups and runs when i gun it, but at low speeds it sounds like a put put.it does have a huge hole in the muffler.
Oh yes..that will definately give you a "putt putt" sound. It wont really make it "run" bad but with a good muffler, you will notice the performance smooth out a bit
no muffler will outdo one with a hole in it think about it now the exhaust can pass threw eaiser than before but in time it will sound like crap and pop and snap at high rpms
Hope you enjoy you Bronco as much as I do mine. I have a 96 Eddie Bauer and I LOVE it!! I used to have a little Bronco II and for what it was I really enjoyed it to. Went some places that made Wrangler drivers cringe--LOL! Now as far as parts, the website BillyBob gave is a good resource for hard to find stuff. AutoZone, JC Whitney and other auto parts chain stores will have most of the parts you need on hand with the occasional special order part as usual.
