Angry enough power?

my bronco has a beat and kinda tired 302 in it but i just got 35"s and i am kinda wondering if it will have enough power to get it though some mud ect... I got these big heavy wheels on it now(hurricanes) but im gonna replace those with some 15x10 cheapo steel wheels, i am wondering what i can do to get alittle more outta my 302? i have another 302 in my garage that is gona get the scats 347 kit this summer so for now i gotta use the underpowered 302. Would an intake, carb, headers&k&n do anything? What do you suggest until i can get my other motor in sometime next fall... any thing that i cn do for under 600 would be good.

if you are always going to run 35's go with 410's or 456's .look into a cam that is focused on torque.

Your heading the right direction,a good cam will do wonders,a good free flowing exhaust and a set of gears justa s you and 96xl discussed and i thing you will be happy with the results and it won't kill your checkbook either.

do the gears first, its the most spendy but will help other things like your tranny live longer because it wont have to work so hard to turn your tires. then just save your money for the rest of the goodies to put onto the new engine.

You will be surprised at how those 410's will make that 302 feel new,. you may be able to just get away with gears and save the rest of your coin for your new 347. oh yeah while your in the front and rear diff install lockers, at least a rear, you will be happy you did.

front locker would be better then rear locker i think. if you go with a rear locker get one thats selectable like an ARB locker because there are times when you wont need or want it locked especially in slippery conditions like ice and snow.
