Angry 86 Ranger 2.3 FI

Truck recently had a small fire which burnt off fuel lines, vaccum lines, and section of wiring harness which were all replaced. Truck runs but will not build any rpm, like it is starving for fuel. One question I have is when reconnecting fuel lines to the fuel rail, which side is the pressure side, (pump side)? Ran codes and the only one that comes back is code 18. According to manual this code means loss of tach signal, but I don't have a tach???

Welcome to FTE.hambone.
Sounds like you still have one burnt wire. Try following the harness from the crank sensor.

The computer uses the the tach signal, thats why you have the code.

Thanks for the help. I found most of the problem was engine was out of time. I bought this truck locally through a friend. It had a new timing belt put on just prior to the fire so I took for granted it was installed correctly. WRONG!! Cam mark was off 4 teeth from TDC. Makes a heck of a difference retarding it by @40 degrees!!!!
