verizon here, its very good.
when i drove from right coast to left and back again this summer, i had service almost every mile. Very few true roam calls.
Only problem, is its confusing when youre really roaming...
I have Nextel. I agree if you don't know people with it to two-way don't get it. I used to have Verizon but my girl wanted to switch. Shes happy with Nextel so I guess I am too.
Currently we have US Celluar which once was Cellular 1. Two phones,1000minutes and unlimited nights & weekends for $50. Great for the limited travel area but I haven't experienced much out of the coverage area. Started out with ATT which was pricey.
Just switched my wife back to ATT, IM still with Nextel (last 2+yrs) at first they were fine, but for the last 4-5 months the two way SUCKS, dropping calls bad reception. So next month IM going back to ATT. Have never had any problems with them.
I still use my 2.5 year old Nokia 51 series, prolly got to replace soon, but waiting for it to die.
I use Surewest, which I think is in North CA only currently, but expanding.I have better service than anyone I know who uses the others mentioned above. $37 per month unlimited use.why does anyone have home phones anymore?
I have a Nokia 1221 cell phone with Tracfone as my service.
I dislike it because the cards you have to buy for it are expensive. Prices range from 50 to 30 cents per minute. I'm 14 and my parents wouldn't let me get a payment plan phone. Bad thing is that I have to buy the cards and to someone who likes to call people, it can get expensive.
I wanted a U.S. Celluar phone, or even better a Verizon phone.
I got the Verizon 3 phone plain, My daughter lives 200 miles away with a different area code she can call her friends locally for her and call us( Not long distsnt) and we get 1000 min of service and 100 min of long distance.
There are some areas where we can't get the service but I am satisfied with it.
Alltell wanted $35 per phone activation fee where Verizon waived the activation fee.
we run nextels with no major problems but they do have a tendency to get bad reception when you get out in the hills. the only thing with nextel is they are kind of expensive.
I've got a TracPhone. It's prepaid so I never get a bill. I just have it so my wife can get in touch with me if need be. I'm not a big talker so I don't use many minutes. Ends up costing about $10 a month.
I Have Cingular. Here in KY their coverage area is beyond anyone elses, but I cannot stand the company. 0 Roaming ever, included long dist, 500 min 5000 N+W, voicemail and call waiting. 2 lines with taxes $60 per mo.
Samsung Phones SUCK
I have Cingular and have had it for about 6 years now. Their coverage is the best in Central IN, in my opinion. I can't hold a decent conversation with any of my friends on their phones when I'm on my landline, and I've got friends with all the other carriers. I've only had Nokia phones in the 8.5 years I've had cellphones. They aren't the cool flip-phones, but they've been about bulletproof for me. I'm a contractor, and the phone is always on my belt, and it's been dropped, bumped, sweated on, etc., and is still going strong. I just get a new one about every 2 years when I get a new contract. By then the battery has gone south somewhat, and technology has changed anyway.
FYI, I case you didn't know. Cingular has purchased AT&T Wireless. Deal to go through in Sept. Now that AT&T (NOT AT&T Wireless) will be able to sell wireless again, they are going to resell Sprint's service and brand it as AT&T. This is so that AT&T can still offer bundled services (longdistance, VoIP, local, wireless, etc...).

Prepaid is a smart way to go if you don't use it much. Also no credit checks.
On that same note, you can buy regular prepaid phone card (not cell) at Sam's club for 3.47 cents per minute.
