I use sprint, never had any problems until recently. They disconnected my service for an overdue balance of 20 dollars. I couldn't believe it. I am considering getting a phone through work, becuase I can get a 33% discount on the phone and service.
I've had a Verizon account since around '95 and have been pretty happy with them.
Around '00 we signed up for a At&t account for my wife to use, got suckered by the offer of a $100 rebate. After arguing with At&t for over 2 years, we never did the rebate. After firing At&t, I just added another line to the existing Verizon account and all is well
Verizon for 3 1/2 years and no complaints. If it's reliable coverage you want then check out verizon; you will most likely conclude that nobody else can compete. BUT, if your calls are local and mostly in the town in which you live, look into one of the cheepie plans from a smaller carrier.
I have two Alltell accounts. My wife and I. Seems that no one else posting uses them as their carrier. Is there something that I do not know? My contracts have expired, so I am free to any other provider. Would like to hear some comments/recommendations. Thank You.
Cingular. I can be sitting in a chair talking and it'll just cut me off. Other times I can be driving and its crystal clear. I have the 1000 anytime minutes for $49.99. My phone is one year and I cant buy any accessories for it now. I'll prolly switch after my contract is up in bout 10 months.
I have Sprint. hate it. Had Verizon (it was perfect) but I relocated. Had Cell One (which i reckon is Cingular now) it stunk. Next up is Nextel since the direct connect went nationwide i'll be good to go.
I have two cell phones. Recently I bought another battery and charger for the newer one, so the older one is a standby.
I have two Tracfones. Verizon is the carrier here and I have no problems as long as a cell tower is within range. I was even way out in the toolies hunting this year, up on a mountain, but back in the draw quite a ways. Suddenly the phone rang and it was my wife. Needles to say I was kinda surprised at the distance and clarity.
Never have had a dropped call or bad service. Tracfones aren't as spendy as some of the others I see mentioned here, since I only use them when I need to, rather than gabbing all the time.
$480 a year , at $40 bucks a month...or $600 a year at $50 a month, is WAYYY more than I pay for my service. And Tracfones now also have digital, call waiting, caller ID, etc, like most other services provide.
I have sprint and i love it, service anywhere, and as long as your on the pcs network, its like your home calling area, you can roam onto other networks if htere isnt a sprint tower near, always had clear reception, never a problem.
Have nextel now works good for me. The two way is great for talking to relatives in Maryland.
Had Verizon they are way to overpriced.
Had AT&T they dropped my plan so instead of telling me this they just put me on a different one. (They said "It's only $15.00 more a month, they forgot I used to have 400 minutes and this new plan gave me 150) I dumped them immediately. Luckily I was only a month and a half from the contract expiration.

I want to switch to Verizon. They have the features on the phone that I want, but they want a $400 deposit because I have no credit history. I took a loan on my truck in november, and I guess my on time payments haven't been reported to the credit bureau yet. I'm so ticked at cingular right now I'm ready to pay the daggum early termination fee and get the heck out. It's time for me to pay my bill and I can't even make the payment online tonight. If they don't want my money, I'm not going to make them take it. I had a problem one time where my phone didn't work for about 3 days. Mom & Dad were out of town and couldn't get hold of me. they thought I was dead or something.
Anybody know of a way to get around the credit thingy? I ask because I noticed today that Verizon has quit offering the phone I want online. I'm going to have to go to the store and get it I guess.
