Edelbrock 8867

My 78 F250 460 has an Edelbrock 8867 carb.

I cannot locate a spec sheet (manaul) for this carb.

I've searched a couple of web search engines and Edelbrock's web site doesn't appear to offer them online.

Has anyone seen a spec sheet for this carb online anywhere?

Does it look like the typical Edelbrock carb or Carter AFB which is simuar? The Edelbrock website has a tech line. They may be able to get you that info.

Finally got mail back from Edelbrock. They wanted to know if this was really their carb. It has a raised red lettering that says Edelbrock on front of it so I guess it's there's. :-) They don't recognize the 8867 stamped in the top and claim their model numbers are on the passenger side of the base. Will see when the sun comes up tomorrow. Funny they don't know the 8867 number stamped in the top. They tell me if i can find the other number they'll send me a manual for it. We'll see.

It could be an old Weber casting number.
Yes, the carb number is right on the front of the base. Probably a 1406 or 1407.

lxman1 is right, the number is on the right, front side of the carburetor mounting flange. Which would be on the left side as your looking at the carburetor from the front of the vehicle.

And it will be 14XX something.

Found it. It's a 1405-0477. :-) Little short on CFM for a big 460 I think. Will throw a kit in it and see what happens but will probalby fork over the $250 or so for a 1406 shortly.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

The 1406 is a 600 CFM carburetor also. It has an electric choke where the 1405 dosen't. And the 1405 is actually jetted a little fatter than the 1406.

A 1411 is an electric choke 750 CFM model. A 1407 is a manual choke 750 CFM model which is also jetted a little fatter than the 1411.

Yeah, my 750 on my 460 is actually a 1407 that I added an electric choke to off of and old 625afb that I had laying around.
That carb should work fine on your engine.

Yes I should have stated the electric chokes can be added to the non choked carbs.

I once ran across a used 1411 that had been converted to a non choke carb with the factory pieces.

Same same

So I ran into this same thing and wanted to reply in case anyone else stumbles into this thread many years later. The part code is on the front facing passenger side on a little piece of metal. I thought I had 8867 but it was a 1405 in my case.
