there was a post awhile ago about rerouting the pcv valve from the #8 to the center vaccumm tree on a 302. i have a 351HO, carburated and was wondering if its possible to do this mod on it. i have a really bad idle problem when it gets warm, it rythmically surges, faster when the rpm goes up and slower when it goes down. it seems to me like one piston was dragging, or getting alot of compression for some reason. maybe the pcv is pushing oil into the #8 and causing alot of drag on that particular pistion, causing it to surge like that. i also have been having erradic oil level readings and dead-zero oil pressure somtimes. a mechanic i know said that the oil returns were clogged and the carb needed a tune up, but the way it surges is very un-carb like. espically beaucse when you give it a little gas the rythim of the surge will increase as well.
anyways i flused my motor like 3 times (bad idea) and adjusted myt carb and same friggin problem.
i tried to relocate the pcv on m motor after reading that post awhile ago but i cant seem to figure out where its going.
I don't think this applies to a carbed engine. The PCV should be hooked to the back of the inatke giving you the same set up as the EFI conversion that you speak off. Meaning the PCV is shared by all the cylinders.
