How do you lock your hood?

If someone wanted to shutoff my alarm, all they would have to do is breakinto the cab, pop the hood and disconnect teh battery. So has anyone figured out a way to lock their hood in a reasoably easy and reliable manner?

Isn't that same for all vehicles??

Why don't you make it harder for a would-be thief to break into the cab?

The aftermarket world does have some very good alarms.........go on line.

NOTHING is fool proof, you just want to make them think if it is really worth all the noise that thing is putting out.

Piece of cake,

Just install a second hidden battery under your X (tons of extra room)

Then just hook up the batteries in parallel.

Locks were made to keep honest people honest; a truely skilled thief will be by your system in short order; If I remember right my Grand Dad had a Ranchero with a hood release with a lock that matched his ignition key; is something like this not available? if not put your Pit Bull in at night and I bet no one will bother it.

Could you install a small 12v battery, like a 12V security system, or firealarm backup battery?

Back when alarms first came out an easy way to defeat it was to drill a hole into the bottom of the battery. Drain all the fluid and whaalaa no more battery.
Of course this would be done if you didn't want to drive off with the vehicle.

I went to a citizens police academy, and they always say that crooks are really stupid.

Just make sure you have good insurance - if someone takes your truck - you get a new one.
