I have a 86 bronco 302efi, runs pretty good around town, and highway as long as i don't give it too much gas....if i say try to pass some one it will start to bogg out and if at a dead stop i try to punch it same thing.....newer pumps / filter (gas and air), fuel pressure is good, what could it be? what should i check? please help
I had a problem like that, but a little worse. I could drive, but had to be very easy on the pedal or it would do what you describe. It turned out I had a voltage drop on to my fuel pumps. (2 new pumps, replay, all that) I found this out buy hooking up my scan tool. Ran great with it hooked up. There is a lead on the connector that toggles the fuel pump I umpired 12v from of the other leads and runs great. I still have not been able to find the problem, but this may help you temporally. This site has a good pic of the connetor.
there is a air bypass valve thats just before your throttle body and when mine went bad i had the same problems you did...dunno if yours has it or not...might want to check
ok i put a new MAP sencer, plugs and wires, and addjusted timming (running about 20) i the put a code reder on my truck and got a code 44 thermactor system fault...........i only got this code after i retarded the timming......WTF now is this something i need to replace and/or how do i check it? what is a good timming mark?
ok i ran a couple more test and they came back 11 all good....i have my timming set at ~12. and am going to replace o2 sensor (even though it is reading good)...any other suggestions
iv had that problem tps cleared it up for my other relations were MAP that you already changed and iac but iac you notice at idle too and can show a big change as weather gets colder.
sometimes the ecm dosnt store codes for some reason only god knows why but when my tps went the ecm didnt store i hade to check it with a volt/resistor meter tells you what to look for in the f series/bronco hayens repair book ...just a pain to take everything apart just to test it ...and you know because its on the bottom its the problem :P thats how it works in my world
