f-250 control module

I was udder the impression that when a control module
went out, it went totaly out. (no fire to plugs) It seems
this is not the case. 1990 f-250 started acting as if
starving for fuel last sunday, Chased the problem for
most of the week (fuel pump relay, fuel presure test, and
many other things) no luck. Yesterday moved the distributer
to reset timing & the truck started. So Im thinking it jumped
time. Pulled the distributer - pin is still good, so i put a new
control module on for fun, and reset the timing - runs Better
than ever. set timing to 4 deg. insted of recomended 10 deg.
runs even better.

4 degrees or 14? If it's at 4 and runs good, then something is out of place.

Cool

I think he means 14 degrees, most 5.0 or 5.8 engines will run better with timing bumped up a little.
