Help! I am taking on what seems to be a big pain of a job... I have converted my front drum brakes to disk, but the hydraulic to power steering is the bear... Does anyone have any tips.

What do you mean by that? I converted mine from manual steering to power (I already had disk brakes) and had no power steering/brake issues. The two systems are inclusive and don't have much to do with one another, as far as I know.
What I mean is that drilling the frame is a pain and I really dont know where exactly to drill the holes. And so far it doesnt look like the steering lines are going to clear the frame. The box is off of a 79 1/2 ton so it should fit right?
Its not the brake system at all... I already did the brakes... the only reason I said brake at all is because I had to use the new spindles so I just added disk brakes too. The problem is in the power steering box.
For one; the steering lines that come out of the box, are pointing down towards the the frame and I dont know why. And two; the oil filter is in the way but I can get a remote adapter for that.
So my only real question is; why are the steering lines coming from the box, pointing down towards the frame? The box came off of a 78 and the frame I am working on is a 74. Should be the same one, right?
I put p/s on an I6 truck and had no problems with the gearbox. Later dropped a 5.8 in her and still had no problems.
The lines (my lines anyway) come out of the box and run down its length toward the frame. they then turn upward to the pump. Mine was originally manual steering but the frame was predrilled. I would think that all our style of trucks have predrilled frames. Your frame is aerly so it may not havew the holes. If so, Find a later model and get the measurements to drill the frame. You would have to be exact, if you weren't you would not be able to mate the gearbox w/the center link.
Remember, you will have to change out your steering column (or at least the steering shaft). Your manual one will be longer than a p/s one.
