Old versus new

Hey everybody, I have a little story to tell. Six of us went sledding to the mountains last week. Four guys and three sleds with me in my 97 crewcab, longbox, 4x4 with the psd. 291,000 kms on the old girl. Went with a buddy who drives a new 6.0 litre psd supercab 4x4, longbox. Well my old girl only used 5 bucks more fuel than the new 6.0 l and I had more gear, people and truck. I thought that was cool. I never got to do a so called race side by side to see who pulls better but that 6.0l was pushing my butt for most of the hills. I know they have way more horseys than my old girl. Anyway I am happy to be in the running so to speak.

Sounds Pretty Sweet

I have always preferred the 7.3L. Not that I would turn down a new truck if it was handed to me, but I find my 7.3 takes care of all of my needs as long as I take care of it. You'd probably lose at a "race" but who cares. You truck is standing the test of time where his may need to visit the doctor to take care of recalls.
