ABS or RABS?

Is there an easy way to determine which one my 99 E-150 has, short of removing one of the front tires? Thanks in advance.

Look in the owners manual; however I think that by that year they only offered the 4 wheel abs...

Without removing the wheels you should be able to look behind the wheel, probably to the read of the coil spring. Try turning the steering wheel to get a better look. If you have 4WABS there are 2 lines connected together going from the body to the wheel. If you have RABS there is one . One is the brake fluid line and the second is the electrical connection of the wheel sensor. Good Luck , John

Thanks for the help, I wound up just taking it apart anyway before dawn so I could get the right stuff on the way through town yesterday. I just picked this up to replace my tRUSTY old '89, it has only 44K original miles but both rotors were completely shot in spite of still having plenty of pad left. Best I can figure is the previous owner only drove it on long trips a couple times a year. I think it took longer & cost more $$ to wait in line at the SOS office for the title/reg. xfer than to do the brakes/rotors/seals. Today I'll finish my "modifications" (hopefully before the playoff games start), Monday I start the new year with a "new" work truck. Thanks again for the replies.

I think the RABS systems didn't have a separate trouble light from the hydraulic brake system. ABS has it's own trouble/diagnostic light separate from the rest of the brakes. I believe RABS is similar to the Sure-Track systems used on big Fords in the 70s.
