When does the factory 3 year/36,000 mile warranty start, at the manufacture date on the inside door sticker or when it is first sold by a dealership (or something else???)?
No offense, but you should of had that all cleared up before you gave them your money. Did you purchase any additional coverage? Any additional coverage should start from the date you bought the truck. I'm guessing the original factory warranty would start from the date of manufacture, if it is a used vehicle. I bought mine used too, but I paid a little extra and got 4 yrs. or 100,000 miles coverage from the date I bought it.
No offense Triton, but im looking for an answer, not a guess. I do have an extended warranty of 4 years/48,000 but it doesnt start until the factory warranty runs out (which is why i am trying to figure out exactly what date that is). Once my factory warranty runs out, i am allowed to take my truck to any authorized repair shop for work (which will be a lot more convienient than the dealership). In case you (Triton) have ever bought a vehicle your self, occasionally a question arrises after the sale that may not of occured to you during the sales process (hince one reason why this forum website is so popular). In the future, when posting reponses to users questions, you may want to consider that if they took the time to post the question, they are probably looking for someone who has an answer rather than a guess.
Just because you don't have the exact answer, doesn't mean you can't contribute!? (Which is why I said "I guess" not "I am positive" ) In any case, it seems PaulC has the answer. Ahh, the forum works!! Happy now!?
Yes, ask your Ford dealer to run an OASIS report on your vin number. It will tell you the in service date, which is the date that it was first sold and that is the same date that the warranty began.
Everybody party too hard last night? it seems that a lot of us are edgy today.
