Gearing could be a big factor in the tests run. Who knows Ford, GM, Chrysler all fudge, to make there products look better. I would think though the hemi would take the Ford in the long shot. Just look, the 300cc advantage of the hemi, Ford is a heavier truck. No replacement for displacement. Well probably my 460 would have a hard time keeping up with the new trucks but Its paid for.
Hey, don't forget, the Hemi Charger is heavier than the Shelby Mustang, probably to the tune of about 700 lbs. And, with the displacement and power advanatge for the Dodge, why wouldn't the Dodge win? I've owned 3 Rangers and now a 2003 F150 5.4 Super Cab, but I have no trouble admitting the Dodge is a more powerful truck. Who cares, I'm happy with my Ford, if I had wanted a Dodge, I would have bought one. I don't really like the styling, but I admire the power, and wish my Ford had 345 HP instead of 260, but that's the way it goes. I don't lose any sleep over it, that's for sure!
i have driven a dodge with the HEMI and the power is impresive. but the 5.4 has enough power for a half ton, more than enough. and i personally believe that the F-150 i an overall better truck.
Lets not forget that the new hemi make less power at 2k rpm than the new 5.4. yes the hemi will take the ford in the long run, but off the line the ford is going to be the winner, when as close to identicle trucks as possible are used.
I would also like to see the test with a heavier load, seems like the two cars in the commercial wouldn't be much over about 4,000 pounds. I can pull that with my Ranger. Lets see some real weight. Why only pull about half of what the trucks are rated for?
How can you guys still be talking about the 04 5.4 ford taking the dodge off the line. I personally belive that it is not the case. It's another ford non truth. Short run, long run, doesn't matter.
Anyone weight a dodge charger lately? And maybe a Hemi at that. I can garrantee that it weights a lot more than mustang and if it is a Hemi then you can add a good 200 lbs to it.
It's a dodge commercial. Of course the dodge is going to win off the line and in the end. They are trying to sell their truck. The driver of the Ford was probably told to not give it all its got off the line. And I would also like to see that high rpm hemi pull something heavier. Ford should go a commercial with the two trucks pulling trailers from a stand still up a hill for a quarter mile. The hemi would be working so hard to get it to start moving at such a high rpm and the ford would grunt and take off. People are forgeting the purpose of trucks and the nature of their design. If you want to find a truck that performs like a truck should in all aspects of work, GET A FORD!!!
Not to mention the Quaddak owns a dodge so dodge always wins to him, it always amazes me how guys will come to a brand specific board and try to argue to all how their truck is better, whats the point ?
I have bought many cars Ford and GM, I have never considered a chrysler for the simple fact they dont appeal to me, I guess the new 300 letter car rwd with a v8 could be nice but it looks like an old folks car
My next purchase will be a GTO, New bodystyle Stang or New bodystyle Lightning
oh ps, I have a dodge loving neighbor, a 98 318 durango, no mods, and like a 99 neon plain jane, no mods both are the greatest things since sliced bread, I dont talk to him much anymore, Im sick of hearing how great and powerfull both these cars are, its all he can do to justify these cars, almost like he feels a minority, tho he talks about how alot of people are "following his durango style setting trend" hes the local trendsetter it seems.....hes also a clinton loving democrat, not to mention a renting no tax paying schmuck

Otto, what a ridicules statement to make concerning dodge always wins. Thats not even worth discussing.
I do own 4 Dodges and one Plymouth. My driveway looks like a dodge dealership. For the most part, you have to give me some credit, I could have choose to hid behind a user name but as always will try to be level with everyone.
Plain and simple, the way I found this site was researching the Hemi. I got so many hits on Hemi that I had to see what was going on. Then decided to join to help with the ridicules non truths floating around this forum concerning dodge and what ever related to Mopar's.
I kind of enjoy this Competition forum. Would enjoy it much more if there was less opinions and more facts presented. Hard to discuss opinions without getting to personal.
