The new Chevy commercial...have you guys seen it. Starts out with the new vette and some other cars driving up onto a moving car carrier. Last vehicle on the carrier is that SS/R pickup...he's movin' along...locks up the brake and spins the truck around and backs it on to the car carrier as its moving down the road. Vehicles aside the concept of the commercial is awesome.
I think that they realized that they needed to get into the market in that class automobile. I just noticed that. Drove an SVT Focus the other day..sweeeeet.
I've seen the commercial - chevy rocks on that one.......chevys still suck, but they tried to bring some of the old back with that ssr. Check out the indy pace ssr in case you havent seen it..... http://www.seriouswheels.com/top-200...ce-Vehicle.htm
I hope ford starts getting the hint and brings back the Bronco......Not like the ssr, but a removable top true 4x4.
I equate the SS/R to the PT Cruiser. Just a quirky little vehicle that isn't REALLY any sort of truck nor is it a car worth much.
It was built to get attention and GOD have mercy on the idiots that pay over sticker to get the first ones cause they loose in the end (BIG BUCKS)
one good thing about the SSR compared to the pt cruiser, is the SSR has a v8 in it. Retractable hardtop is cool as well with the big fender look. It has a wood bed floor, but the downfall is that the bed is only big enough for a few groceries and thats about it. Im thinking its a 3-4ft bed. I have to agree, they have the sticker price way to high. At least when the cruiser came out, it was sorta affordable.
If you have the patience for a corporate website you can see the chevy commercial on their's. They certainly didn't show the pickup manuver in one shot... it was edited together from a half dozen clips a-la fast & the furious. I'll bet even the shot of him throwing it in reverse was fake
