Actually my truck is doing very well now days so I don't have too many tech. questions. I have received lots of help and good info. in some of the other forums. I vist the other forums just to take a peek and see if I might have anything to offer or add. "Nothing here, I think I head to the pig pen and maybe make a few pies".

Ever make a mud pie as a kid? Have a mud ball fight? I guess the "Pig Pen" is the adult version here. It can be fun or entertaining at times but it also can be mean spirited if were not careful.

Slinging a mud pie at someone or watching others do "battle" can be entertaining, informative, funny, even enjoyable, as long as everybody knows a mud pie may be heading their way if they choose to wade into the mud hole. I say take it in stride and play nice. A friendly mud fight can be fun, until it goes on and on and on, on one subject. Enough already!

I don't think I'm gonna change anybodys views or convince someone to follow my ideals. So I'll make a post or maybe even a few posts on a thread that sparks my interest and move on. The way I see it, when an exchange of ideas, views, political or religious beliefs can be thrown back and forth in a friendly manner for people to think about or ponder is one thing, but to just sit there and argue and try to convince others your point of view is the most correct gets boreing very fast. Why argue just for the sake of argument? But I'm probably guilty of a little of that myself and try to watch myself in that respect. To respond with a quote is one thing, but why do some have to quote the entire post especially if its a long response to someone else?

One thing I see which makes me feel this way is when someone uses the entire quote from a post and breaks it down, dissects it and has an argument for every sentence or paragraph in the post. Not only does this add to the length, but makes me think the person responding is trying to prove some superior intellect or knowledge by thoroughly trashing the post in some cases, and has a differing opinion on everything that just has to be said. It's like some people just have to win the arguement and have the last word. Get real!

Another thing. If only one sentence or paragraph of the post applies, why not just edit the quote instead of quoting the entire post? We've already read it! And if it's a response to me, just say so. You don't have to quote everything I typed, I already know what I typed. This may not always be true with some posts as some wish to respond to a personal attack, real or precieved. Some posts are long, (like this one) or has lots of questions and begs a response, hopefuly in a thoughtful, respectful manner.

So, there's my mud pie. Aimed at no one in particular. All in good fun. Now, hit me with your best shot! I got my dirty clothes on.

You know what's funny? A couple of trolls appeared here recently, accusing us all of being no-good, mindless Liberals! Yeah, that's what you'll ALWAYS find at a Ford Truck website: a bunch of Liberals, discussing which latte' to drink with their finger sandwiches........

I go to "read new forums by post" whenever I come to the beloved FTE. If a thread interests me, I read it, and hopefully think about it enough to respond. More often thatn not I just read, because I'm not that great at debating, and unfortunately I don't follow politics enough to justify a good answer. But reading the threds is still thoughtprovoking enough to learn a little bit.

I avoided the Pig Pen at first. It's become one of my favorites to read. It's keeps me coming back.

I get tired of the pattern on the model-specific forums. The same topics keep popping up from new users that are smart enough to register to the site, but either not smart enough or too lazy to conduct a search for threads covering their problems. (ie. "My late model F150 idles rough - any ideas?") That's not to say there's anything wrong with that, but how many times have you seen a newby ask for help, then disappear? You don't know if they ever took the advice offered, or if it worked.

At least in the Pig Pen, you can share opinions with people, and feedback is the norm.

I am very interested in politics. I love to hear other peoples view, especially from other countries, b/c they might of thought of something I didnt. And its different from the normal discussions.

Believe me if you like other peoples views………
WE HAVE LOTS OF THOSE.

If you think anyone else has thought of something, you did not.........................
IT WILL BE THOUGHT OF HERE

If your are interested in politics, ……………..
WELL....HOLD ON THERE IS A FEW HERE………politicians that is.

Actually, it is a great place to read how others view the world, not only from their perspective but also from the geo-political point of view.
It is entertaining.

Thanks for the reply's.

Need to modify the reasons why people visit the ~Pen~ to include People, Politics... and I'll thow in Religion, cause all we all know it's here too!

Why people visit the ~Pen~???

Because of (and not in any order):

· Knowledge
· Wisdom
· Power
· Good debate
· Good Argument
· Intellectually stimulating
· Entertainment
· Controversial
· Enjoyable
· A place to vent
· People
· Politics
· Religion

There is definately a pattern developing as to why people come to the ~pen~

Any others???

I don't read Pig Pen as often as I started out. I get so tired of politics sometimes. But gathering an overview of other peoples thoughts gives me food for thought, whether I reply or not.

To assure that we, as a human race, are not compacted into billions/trillions of endless algorithms (did I say al gore rhythms?) that seemingly produce inactive and depressing results. To observe “us” in and out of our elements, prompting ever so gentle those who are afraid of the “deep end” to jump in – with both feet. To lurk just outside of consciousness, where shadows dwell, that we might, occasionally, be enabled to join the revelry without invitation. To address those, like me, who are clinically insane, to find those vaguely similar, if only in written word.

To go where no man has gone before…………….

I think FTE is a place we all come together due to the love of our trucks. Since we all have that in common, the pen is the place to see were we disagree. I check the pen each time I come to FTE. I enjoy the discussion and the occasional debate.
To be honest I use to go to the other Ford sight more often than FTE. That all changed after discovering the Pig Pen.
Thanks to FTE for having it.
Thanks to you guys for making it what it is.
