HOW DO CHILD SEATS FIT IN THE 02 250 SUPERCAB
I have a '00 SD and the child seat fits fine in mine. HOWEVER, I'm 6'4" tall and like the seat back so the carseat has to be on my "navigators", aka wife's, side or in the middle.
We put the carseat in the middle and our 8 yr old on wifes side. It worked out pretty good but he's starting to get cramped for leg room in the middle and the console dont move.

It worked fine with one kid, but now I have another on the way. I can't find a rearward facing seat that fits!!!!! once the can sit forward it is okay on the side. I am continuing to search for one.......Wife says I have to sell my truck and get an expedition until they are older.
If anyone finds a seat let us know!
Thanks,
Dont want to part with my 02'SD in PA

We looked at those before and she wont drive it. Says toooo long. (and it looks like a DOT truck.) I wouldn't mind driving all the time, but those trips across PA and Ohio get mighty long. It is nice to have a second driver...... We also have a Lab that goes everywhere with us, so her car so out of the quesiton.
I will pitch your idea to her again. Thanks!

>does a child seat fit ok, is there enuff room for 2 small kids?
Reports say yes, Tony. Stay tuned.
>What would be better the captains chairs or the bench?
Better for what? This is really a personal preference thing and an "intended passenger carrying mission" thing.
If I were to do it again I'd go with the 40/20/40 seats up front. But it is really up to you.
You were asking about front seats, right? Captain's chairs are not available in the rear of a Super Cab.

JRThornton,
Explain how your carseat does not fit.
Does it hit the front seats?
Can you not buckle it properly?
Is it angled incorrectly?

The child seat back hits the back of the front truck seats. I am 6'1" so my seat is all the way back. I moved the passenger seat up some, but the seat backs still hit. I tried taking out the backrest part of the rear seat, but then the seat wont' buckle in correctly, and those air dampers let some air in......
Thanks for your help. I also noticed others with similar questions on the New Baby thread.

I have the split bench, and i think it fits better when the car seat is in the middle as your children start to get bigger. My daughter rests her feet on the center fold down portion of the split bench. I do think that the crew cab would be a heck of a lot better though, maybe next time.............

Do you currently have a long bed or short bed? The SC long bed is actually 1.8 inches longer than the CC short bed. Maybe you could talk her into a CC short bed.
Also, don't buy an orange one and it will look less like a DOT truck... although I hear DOT trucks sleep four comfortably.

HOW DO CHILD SEATS FIT IN THE 02 250 SUPERCAB
We have a 10 month old baby and I am allowed to pick her up from the sitter sometimes. I usually put her in the front seat right in the middle cuz she is so da*n cute that I want to see her. That is also a bad thing because I don't always watch the road.
When i have put the car seat in the back, it has to go between the two seats. We would have to put the seat in front all the way forward which is not comfortable for even my little lady.
Pretty soon we will be putting the little one (baby, not the wife!) in a booster seat that faces forward. These should fit behind any seat without having to move it up all the way.
Good job on the baby. Good luck!

>Somehow, my parents managed to fit me and my brother in the
>front of a 1964 Chevy reg. cab with a metal dashboard and no
>seat belts without any major problems. Keep the pick-up and
>wait until the fourth child for the SUV.
Ah the memories... We saw the country from a rear facing bus seat in the back of a ford pickup. Some used capet on the floor and an aluminum topper over our heads. It only leaked when it rained. Great memories but I my kids aren't going to travel that way! Remember when you could make chains out of pop tops? Those were the days.
