97 Super Duty Powerstroke

I have spent a significant amount of time browsing this forum for the answer to my question and have not found it. We run a shop in a fairly small city where the number of experienced diesel mechanics is limited. Our tow truck company brought us one of their trucks. 97 7.3 Powerstroke Superduty. It WILL NOT start. This is what is ok: Glow plugs, batteries, cables, all fuses, cps (replaced 3 times), and all of the other starting components. My techs are now trting to determine if the high pressure oil pump is working. It has oil pressure we think just maybe not enought to fire the injectors. Did I mention we aren't experienced w/ Diesels either?? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

It could be that your losing some of the oil from the HPOP, so to test it, remove the cover, and fill to within 1/4" of the top, replace the cover, and fire 'er up. If she starts, you're on to something.

By the way, Ford didn't start calling their F250-350 pickup a SuperDuty until '99.

Thanks for the quick response, but I've seen that answer on this forum already, and nope-the reservoir is almost full and there is oil pressure, just not the correct amount. Could it be something like a high pressure oil pump relay? Excuse my mistake about the "superduty", I am not a Ford owner.

Sorry, don't know about a HPOP relay, so I can't help there.

P.S. You might not be a Ford owner, but as long as you don't openly admit to driving a Chev or Dodge, you're still welcome here.
