Body Lifts on a 99 f-250 SD?
Hello, I know this isnt that suspention or the lift forum, but im hoping to get a answer to this anyway.
Has anybody body lifted a 99 sd? i have a ext cab, with a short box, already a 5.5 fabtech lift with 35s. its a gasser if thats helps.
Ive seen few running around with what i think are body lifs on them. I wantto put a 3 inch body on tis next month.
Has anybody ever done one of these b4 on theres? how hard are thy do do?
Any problems getting them on? such as the auto tranny licae from the sterring colum? the stering colum? wireing all that junk?
I would aprecite the reply and thanks for your help.

I have one but it's still in the box, I'm to lazy lately to stick it in. Probably won't get to it till the spring at this point. A few guys here have them but I don't think they installed them themselves. I've looked over the directions and barring any unexpected events, should be around a 4 hr job.
If your good with tools, and have a nice collection of them, it doesn't really look that bad, just have a buddy around to help with the heavy stuff.
Just some things off the top of my head, dissasembly of the parking break cables, remove front bumper, remove body bolts, install one side at a time, you will loose your front tow hooks.
The kit from preformance ascessories comes with everything you need.
I got mine on Evilbay for $50 but I think normally they are $250 +.
Also you may want to look into "lift lips" or a gap hider type of product, it will clena up the gaps where the body meets the frame.

I installed my 3" performance accessories kit myself. Took me about 16 hours total, but I was working by myself and I took my time since it was my first lift install. The only odd tool that I needed was a T-55 torx socket to remove the rear seat, which is something that must be done to get to the rear body bolts. The P.A. kit comes with all the hardware you need. You get a steering shaft extension, fuel filler extension, and front and rear bumper brackets. As Yeti stated, you are supposed to lose the front tow hooks, but if you drill some holes through the top of the frame and add a couple spacers, it is possible to keep the hooks and mount them to the top of the frame instead of from the bottom, which is the factory location. I bought my kit for $250 from Summit Racing.
