High pressure fuel pump issue. The one I had in was only a year old and was loud from the start and got louder as time went on. Just had a new pump installed today and it is just as loud. The noise is incredibly annoying and can be heard loud and clear in the cab. Is there any way to make this noise stop? Is there something esle causing the problem that would make the pump run that loud? Any help here is appreciated. I really mad cause I didn't need to spend all this money.
The original pump ran quiet until I had the engine overhauled. Then, for some reason, it ran loud. The second pump was loud and so is the new one.
Also, I put a new fuel pressure regulator in before the second pump and that didn't make a difference.
i am having the same prob.....my fp can de heard from a block away (mabey not that far) but you get my drift.....WTF it is about a year old as well and getting louder
Truck ran fine until today. The mechanic said that putting a little automatic transmission fluid in the tank would lubricate the pump and help. All its done is make it run rough as hell. Can't break 2500 rpms without it wanting to quit. Getting a different brand pump put in on Friday. I'm wondering if the fuel filter got plugged up by the transmission fluid.
