Flash for the 04 motor

Is there such a thing yet. Have a minor issue with mine that after sitting for a while and starting it, it will idle rough - like a miss. Will clear up when it is nice and warm again. Maybe a sensor??

Tks

Just had my '04 in yesterday. I had gotten a recall letter on my '03 that Ford had repurchased. I didn't read it carefully and took the '04 in. The service manager told there were no recalls on my '04. Build date 10/0/03.

Actually that states the flash is meant for "VEHICLES BUILT PRIOR TO 8/18/03", which are 03 vehicles or 04 vehicles with 03 engines. I still say there are no flashes (other than original) for the 04/04s.

Roger. My built date is 10/27. I may just have to have the original program loaded into it. Food for thought - will disconnecting the batteries have any effect on resetting the computer - or just have it re-flashed w/original

Have it reflashed with latest available, disconnecting batteries will just make you reset all your radio stations....

Please explain: I am confused about the build dates for the international diesel 6.0 l. some are saying that build dates for the engine after 8/18/03 is the new 04 diesel engine. Was this the date that international decided to retool and make the new engine ? From what i have read, the new engine has several changes that would facilitate a retooling effort. What did they do, start putting the new camshafts and pistons in the blocks and move the ICM to the front of the engine after this date ? When did the new turbochargers go into production and what build date did these start ? someone told me it was in august of 2003. Just want to have my facts straight so the next person that asks me about my truck can have the correct information. My understanding is that the injectors where changed after the april 2003 build dates. thanks in advance. rimshoes.

Tks
Go to this thread, read completely…. and post.

ODOMETER reading at time of problem is critical.
In addition, please read more instructions, bottom of first page, posted by Tim L
Tell as many as you can about this thread.
The simpler the writing (posting) of “problem/odometer” reading………….the easier it will be to collate. Do not need many words. I must reduce all the date into a usable format; extra words will take more time to complete.

Thanks
