Just got flashed
I just received the recall on the emission (pilot ignition deletion). My truck has 1,400 miles on it and I definitely baby it trying to get better than 10 1/2 MPG. I did get 13.9 on a highway trip from Fresno to LA. I scheduled the appointment for the flash? on January 19th. I am also having my first oil change done at the same time. I will check the mileage and let everyone know if it gets better. My truck does have 35" tires and a 6" pro-comp lift so I do not expect 20 plus MPG but 15 would be wonderful! Between now and the day of the flash, I will drive the truck "like I stole it" and see if that helps the mileage. Other than bad mileage, this is the best truck I have ever owned.

ODOMETER reading at time of problem is critical.
In addition, please read more instructions, bottom of first page, posted by Tim L
Tell as many as you can about this thread.
The simpler the writing (posting) of “problem/odometer” reading………….the easier it will be to collate. Do not need many words. I must reduce all the date into a usable format; extra words will take more time to complete.

A diesel will get better and better mpg the more miles you put on it. It does not have a "break in" period. The harder you drive the quicker all the parts will "Seat" and the better mpg you will get. Some instances up to 8000 miles on truck before accurate mpg readings can be taken.....
EVERYONE PLEASE LISTEN!!!!!

Andy could not be more accurate, I have friends with the 7.3, and the overall MPG has increased continuously through 80k on the odometer. He is a very consistent driver and runs the same routes all the time, allowing him to see small changes over time/distance.
