Obviously there is money to be made by selling a kit that would convert the existing gasoline filter setup to a canister type like the diesel where all you need is to unscrew it to change it. I know I would like one.

I did it!!! Whew-hooo! It took me about 10 minutes, and that's including setup and clean up (putting away creeper, pan, extra gas can to bleed line into, and throwing away trash)! I didn't even take the print out of the directions. I remember them from reading them this morning and I just told myself, "hey the little top hat thingy's make sense now that I understand how the clamps are holding each end on". That made ALL the difference...
So, thanks n578md and alfie623 for your help, instructions, and support. Believe it or not, this actually MADE MY DAY because yesterday I was pissed off that I couldn't change a darn fuel filter.

n578md, Well up here in WV it is not my skills I am worried about. The rest of the people I have to share the road with is another matter. I am sure you have a few of those kinda drivers in your area as well.
Although I now only have two icons now since the one on the seat does not qualify any more.
I do think that those gas filters probably make mechanics a lot of money changing them. The engineer that came up with that probably got an extra month of vacation time that year.
