I hear ya Pete.I've done everything to my Ranger and I'm still thinking of stuff that can be done lol.I love these little trucks.I would attempt to put that 351 Windsor that I pulled out of that F-100 in my Ranger, but it's too nice like it is and I don't really want to mess with all of that computer junk.I'll tell you what looks really neat...When someone takes one of these Ranger's and stuffs an EFI 5.0L and keep the A/C,Power Steering, etc. That's really kewl. You know what I'm talking about...The one's that look like they came from the factory that way.I love though little dudes. They look stock but haul @ss .

Yeah man...I'll give ya a hand with your Traction-Loc .I'll pick up a 6-Pack on my way up there .I'll get anything you want...As long as it's Budweiser .

Yeah,I know what you mean. Those are the best ones to get.The one's that are running.Just buy the conversion kit and drop it in.While I had the motor out,I would install a mild cam though. That's just me.I've got this 351 Windsor torn down in my garage and I'm trying to decide what I want to do with it.I really want to stroke it to 427ci,but then again, that's a little much for a Ranger.I think that a 393 Stroker would be a nice punch. They push about 410 horsepower. That's over 4 times what my little 2.3L dishes out lol.Oh well, like I said,I'm not messing up 'Lil Red.Really with this 351,it would be better to go with a 4WD because there's going to be a 525lb. chunk of lead up front and you'd have to do something to the rear end to get it to bite better.So,4WD would probably be the way to go.Although a 2WD would eat up the strip.

Anyway...Those 4.0L's are very good engines.A buddy of mine has one in his 2000 Ranger and it has plenty of power for what it is.

Oh yeah, i agree, the 4.0 is powerful, but the rangers around here get put down alot, everyones got a chevy. This kid i know who always gives mine crap has a 1500 with a 305 in it, i'd love to drop in the 302, bored out and such, and just smoke that kids pos in every way, i'd love to see the look in his face when my little ranger is draggin his "big chevy" by the bumper, i'd almost drop the engine in right now just to see that!
