When I was a kid my dad used to tell me, "boy, you can`t see the leaves for the trees!" When I turned 40 I found out he was right. I`m near-sighted. Won`t wear contacts though. Don`t fly either.

Bill in Miami.

I have been wearing glasses since I was about 10 years old and I am 25 now. I can't anything more than 4-5 feet away clearly. I surely cannot drive without my glasses. Last time I had my eyes checked they were at like -380 or -400 something like that.

I tried to get contacts a while back, but since my eyes are so sensitive I could not even get in my eyes and when I did, they would not stay in.

I'm blind as a bat. Wore glasses for years and then went to contacts. Now I don't even own a pair of glasses. Contacts are great until I'm under the truck dropping dirt in my eyes. Been wanting to get Lasik but I somehow find other stuff to spend the money on.

I'm now 50 and I'm finding that I need to wear my glasses more often. I hate getting old !!!! I should have taken better care of myself.,at least as good as I care for my truck.

i need glasses. My vision really isnt bad, just bad enough to where things arent as sharp enough. I used to wear glasses but now i wear contocts, ill never go back to glasses. contacts were a pain at first and I just couldnt get them in, but even though i couldnt imagine it ever being easy to do, it is now.

I'm about to cough up $5k for the most adavanced laser fix yet. Apparently the newest corneal mapping techniques can even improve night vision (one of my biggest concerns). I am just slightly near sighted, and they figure they can get me to 20/20 or even 20/15 very easily.

$398 per eye at Bloomberg Vision in Newark Ohio
It's stupid to spend $5,000 unless the doc is buying a new yacht

Contacts and only contacts. My normal vision is something like 20/400. If I didn't know it was a E on the chart I would not know what it was. I have checked into laser, 30 day contacts, and the new stuff where you can wear you contacts at night and take them off during the day. In every case my vision is outside the parameters allowed for the procedure.

I have better than 20/20 with contacts and they work great until a little dirt gets in them, still it beats glasses or not being able to see at all. I think my glasses are -9.

I wear glasses. Last time i had my eyes checked they were 20/120 i believe. What is the limit before they wont do lasik surgery? How much is lasik surgery and like texan said, whats the risk of them damaging your eye even more?
