I have a 70 f100 with 302 and i want to change the manual choke to eletc since all of the heat deflectors have broke off.
I bought the part but it come with the directions to install it.
It has 2 parts one is a square piece with four wirs coming out of it. and a brass clamp. I think it is to sense the heat. and the other part is the the choke coil that connects to the carb.
#1 where do i mount the square piece
#2 I know that two of the wires go to the choke coil and i assume that the other to are pos (red) and ground (White) where do i hook those up at?
Glad you asked that question because I have one also. I put my electric choke conversion on an edelbrock 600 cfm carb (1971 Sport Custom) and have no idea where to hook the hot wire up. It is not long enough to run anywhere except the ignition coil and the starter solenoid (ignition coil would be very bad, might fry the thing). So, if someone has done this on an edelbrock, please chime in? Thanks, Doc. I might just put this in the electrical section to, you think?
Pat, is the strator terminal the one with the blue wire? and i thougt you would hook the hot (red) wire to the alternator and the black wire to any grounded surface you could fine, thanks, doc.
Use the stator term on the alternator. It is 7 volts. I put a Holley electric choke cap on a 2100; it fits. The Holley cap is a 12 volt unit. It just opens a little slower at 7 volts.
