Bad heater coil ?

Bad heater coil ?
Im not sure but I think my heater coil is going down. The heat is not blowing very hot, I can hear fluid flowing with a gurgling sound in the area of the passenger floorboard, and found a few drips of coolant on the floor mat. I have a 98 F-150 and was wondering if it sounds like the heater coil, what the replacement will cost, and how big of a job is it ?

Proudf-150, I would check and make sure the system is topped off with coolant and that your hoses are tight. Replacing the heater core on a 98 is a very big job. The entire dash must be removed in order to replace the core. I've heard estimates as high as $600 from dealerships to do it.
Hopefully you can find something else that is outta wack instead of the core.

Thanks for the information. I called my service tech and he said it sounded like there were air pockets in the system since I just had the head gasket replaced. They are going to purge it and add some coolant for me. I hope this takes care of it, much simpler process.
