beat a dead horse, FIPK?? worth it?

I know theyre pretty expensive, but form the searching i've done, ive found that one of the best ways to get some extra power out of the 6 is to open up the airflow. Alot of the threads say that the FIPK has been debated alot, but none of them say whether they were worth it or not. So whats everyone who has them say. I have a flomwaster 40 dual outlet exhaust, and no number 2 cat. Thanks guys.

The FIPK sucks in hot underhood air. Any gains from the freer airflow are largely offset by the higher temps. Save your money

I agree, more airflow and hot underhood engine air is not going to gain you any performance. I put a drop in in my airbox and got no performance gains. The intake system is not the hold back of our 300's. The intake on our 300's is the same intake used on the 460. If it can flow good for a 460, i believe our 300's wouldn't have a problem there. The major restriction is the head. The passages aren't big enough and the valves are small. If you want any real good performance out of your 300, then I would suggest to port and polish the head, and get bigger valves. That would be money better spent than on the FIPK IMO.

Don;t forget about a nice cam, nice heads with stock cam will get you nowhere. Get a nice cam, and split headers with true dual exhaust, and you should be set.

Allright, thanks guys. I actually knew about the hot air, I didnt think about it for some reason though. I've been looking for cams so far, so i guess i'm on my way. Thanks again
