abendx, wasn’t the "cool guy" lift you rode in a 4” spring lift? I believe that is what I read. You can see by my sig. I have the “cool guy” hanger kit with Bilstein shocks, it rides better than stock. Now maybe the shocks have everything to do with it, but nevertheless it rides better.
The only "issues" with lift an X is the addtional rear weight over the rear may cause the lift springs to sit 1-1.5" lower than they would be on a SD.....easily correctable with bigger springs or more block.
The other thing that I have heard about lifting X's is that sometimes they have driveline vibration issues.
Bodylifts on PSDs can be done........but I've never heard of anyone relocating the intercooler. The people that I've contacted who have done the body lift have modified their intercooler tubes. If you were to relocate the intercooler (downward) I'd think that you'd be blocking some of the air flow through it.
abendx,
How was your friend's intercooler relocated??
Did they cut out the mounts and make new mounts lower??
The body lift for the 250 can be used on the X, but you have to replace the back 6 bolts in the kit with longer one`s. You will also lose the blocker beam in front. Just had mine done 2 weeks ago.
