Installing flexplate today.

I want to re-install the flexplate on my 4.9L. Is there any way to screw it up. The old plate is going onto a new engine. I don't see any lines, marks on the end of the crank. The flexplate has one through-hole with a mark on it, but I think the plate looks symmetrical. I will probably just push it on, and install the six bolts and torque em. The plate isn't a flywheel of course, it is light, and is only used to crank over the engine. I am hoping this is a real n0-brainer. Thx in advance.

The bolt holes are drilled in such a way that it will only go on 1 way.

I finally figured one out!! You are right, There is only one way to attach the plate. Too bad I forgot to put the metal gasket for the bell housing on first..I had to install my plate twice.Thx

BTW, You have to use SHORTER bolts to install a flexplate than when you install a flywheel (don't ask how I know this). I believe you have to seal them off too per the manual...
