bronco starter solenoid

sometimes my bronco will not start off the key ignition so i have to jump the terminals on the soleniod. is it just the solenoid? or is there something else that needs attention?

I put in a solid state and it got rid of that problem. I check all your wiring connections for corrosion. If not fixed it can led to major electrical problems later.

what did that solid state cost you? easy to put in?

Most likely the wires. It could also be the switch.

I think those starter solenoids are wear parts...defin. a cheap and quick fix...and if that dosent solve your problem..at least you've saved a problem down the road...

It took about 3 minutes but make sure you disconnect the battery first and before reconnecting the new one either put on new ends on the wires or use emory paper (fine sandpaper for metal) to clean off the corrosion. I think it was under $15, my dad picked one up for me so I don't remember. make sure to get a solid state though
