does anyone know if a leveling kit wich replaces the srpring shackles instead of adding add a leves will effect the mounting of a fisher snowplow? i plan on ordering the shackle kit to level my truck (2002 crew cab 4x4 diesel) but want to make sure that they wont interfere with the plow mount.
Unfortunetly, I can't help you with the fisher mount, I can tell you after just looking at mine with a western, that their would be no problem with the shackle kit. My springs are well outside of my western frame and would have no problem running logner shackles.
Maybe Forty can tell you about a fisher frame and the location of it to the shackles.
I'm just getting up,gotta get my coffe .
The minute mount mounts just before the springs,if I remeber the crashbar bracket bolts have to come out and go back in ,I'll chk in a few minutes after java.
A plow on a diesel and a crew cab ,be careful ,I think we talked about this before!
Okay chkd my plow mount, the rear part of the mount should not be a
problem, the front part doesn't attach to the crash bar or the spring
shackles bracket,it has a piece that goes on the inside up an over
the frame like a clamp and one hole has to be drilled through the frame
or at least opened up to alow the size bolt to go through.
I have no idea what your lift kit spring shackle looks like.
I don't have a lift on my truck.
My suggestion would be ask the lift kit people if you could return it ,if it interferes with the plow mount,or put it on and ask the plow installers to work around it. anything can be done for $ as we know
Yeah we did try to customize Monsta's bus ,and make it a superduty but
he got scared when you pulled out that Chainsaw.
wish they all coulda seen his face!!!!!!
thanks, im going to check with the plow man but they sais they didnt think it would interfere. they said i couldnt return the perches if they were in the wAy, once they are installed they are yous they said.
just to let everyone know, i installed the rough country leveling kit that is shackle kit and shocks. the kit went on easy and am completely happy with the end result! now on to plow shopping
I hope you have x springs under it ,having a diesel plus a crew cab up front puts the extra weight up there then add the plow.
I thought Ford didn't want plows on crew cabs?I would problaby put a 7.5
fisher on it, its not to heavey.
no, i didnt get the x springs yet. the truck sits level now and i'm scared the x springs will make the truck sit nosen high without the plow, so im waiting on the x sprinhgs for now. im also looking at an 8' fisher about 8-900 lbs. ford frowns on plows on diesels because the weight front to make ratio is too high or close to too high with the diesel for safe braking in their opinion. i had a regular cab disel with 7.5 meyer and never had a problem. drive smart! i use rear weight to counter the ratio a little
