diesel engine

I had my new truck blow an engine, diesel, and the dealer and customer service say they will replace the engine. How do I know it will be a new engine? It will take three weeks to replace, why should I pay 15.00 a day to rent a vehicle which wont replace my truck? Is there a higher authority I can go to for complaints? I only had 1300 miles on my truck and was stranded at a horse show. Fortunately I was able to borrow a truck to haul my horse and trailer home but I am unable to do any hauling with what I was allowed to rent from Ford. I have a lot of problems with Fords response so far.

I am surprised the dealer is not getting you a rental, my dealer provided a rental even when mine was in for one day. I would get ahold of ford cust serv I know they have and may in this case pay your truck payment while it is in the garage for a major repair, they paid mine on my old truck when it was in for 3 1/2 weeks for trans replacemant when it was only 3 months old. You just have to complain loud enough and to the right people, I would start with the General Manager of the dealer you bought it from.

Thanks Yoson, part of the problem was all this occuring on a weekend and out of town from where I bought the truck. Ford Customer Service tried to be helpful but they just didnt seem to understand the problem. If I hadnt been able to borrow a truck or find a friend, would I have been stuck in Baton Rouge for 3 weeks and miss the Sugar Bowl? Finone
