Question header problems on 4.9L

I recently put a set of Clifford shorty headers on my 90' 4.9l along with a magnaflow cat and a Dynomax super turbo system with duals. My problem is the air hose coming out of the header, it keeps popping off. I am using a reg hose clamp, is there a better way to keep this hose fr coming off?

Hmm. I dont know of any other way. Maybe you should run two, one where you normally do, and one at the end where it slides on. On the latter, you might want to do half on/half off (onto the male end the hose is sliding onto).

I went and checked the old exhaust manifold and saw a fitting was used to keep the old air tube in plece. Is it possiable that is the only way to keep it together? I think there may be to much preassure for the hoseclamp.

I agree with wheelMA1. try using 2 hose clamps. also make sure they are stainless. anyway how does it sound with headers? and is it a true dual system or single in dual out?

if that dont work then try 3 clamps!!!

Well I solved the hose clamp prob by having the shop that installed the system fab a pipe, put a fitting on it and install it like when it was stock and works like a charm.
The Clifford's seem to work great, the differance in performance is awsome! I went with a 3 in. Magnaflow cat and a Dynomax system. it goes fr the headers,2 1/4 in collecters to a Y pipe the goes to a single 3 in pipe through the cat to the Super Turbo muffler then out dual 2 1/2 in.
I 've got dual tanks and with the I6 it made it a lot easier a lot cheaper to go that way. the cat and the system was $300.00.
