can any 4.6 be changed?
the reason for my question, is i have a 2001 ford f150 with a 4.6. i was told that the new cobra motor could go into my truck. it sound like an idea for the future. like around the time my 4.6 deads. so with some modification as far as air intake, battery, and other smalls thing is looks like it can be done. if can let me know. thanks for any info about this.

that is what i thought. as long as the computer was upgraded the thing would run. what i was tring to get at was if the motor would fit. will it bolt up to trans and motor mounts? you know that kind of thing. thanks for the info. it is just that i would like know so if anything happens to my motor i may look at it as a replacement.

It should bolt up. It wouldnt make any sense from a manufacturing point of view to have the same motor use different mounting patterns. The only place that I can forsee an issue might be with intake clearance. The cobras intake might be taller than a standard 4.6 .

i would make room for that motor. everyone i have talked to says it is one of fords best motors. if i can find time i want to go test drive a 03 cobra just to see the performance. thanks for the info.
