Cd changer/weird noise question.

Let me start by saying this is an awesome site...been here about a week and i already read alot of very helpful info and topics on my new truck..00 Navigator.

My radio (alpine Tape/cd changer controls) was not working. The display would not light up, but everything else worked fine. I had the dealer send it off for warranty repair and they lent me a loaner cd player, off a explorer. Fit right in, even works with my steering wheel controls.

Today i was trying out my Radar Detector and heard a weird noise coming out of the center armrest, the cd changer to be exact. It sounded like it was changing cd's, not that long of a noise though. I checked it out, but the magazine wasn't even inside of it. Truck was off, i started the engine and it stopped. Turned the key off again and after about a minute or so it was doing it again. Does anybody know why its doing this or if this is normal. I only had this veichle less that 2 weeks so i don't know if this is normal. Im worried it's going to run my battery low, eventually. Any help, comments, or advice would be appreciated.

It isn't normal for the change to move at all unless playing a cd, or ejecting the magazine. I am thinking that maybe something in there is gummed up, or dirty causing the changer to keep cycling.

Anybody else?

I wonder if it gots something to do with not having the cd changer controls pluged into it in the rear of the radio. Is there a way to stop power from going to the changer, like a fuse or disconnecting it from the changer itself? Plug or something?
