Need Advice Please
Hey Guys,
I have replaced the fuel filter and been adding a fuel additive to the gas and I am having a problem.
96 350 psd 138,000miles
Lately it will start running rough from time to time and if I pull off of the road for a few minutes it will start to run smooth again. Some days it will run smooth the whole day and then others it starts out fine and then will turn rough until I pull off. I have pressed the pedal to the floor seeing what will happen and it keeps going but still runs rough. Have no idea and I need some advice.

Well First off I hope your not Putting Gas in it like stated LOL.
It could be alot of things But I kinda sounds like the CPS is going bad. When its running bad look at the tach and see if its jumping around or is it smooth. Does the truck have a Chip? Chips can have a bad connection and cause problems also. If it has a chip Take it out and run it and see if it still does it.

Hello, It sounds like you may have a fuel pump starting to go bad. If you have access to a fuel gauge that is liquid filled and reads up to 100 psi, check and see what it is reading. It should be around 40 psi at idle, unless you have the fuel regulator shimmed it could go up to 80 psi> I would start there first, also you may want to pull the screen at the fuel regulator and clean it also.
