ringing carburetor

Help... I put a remanufactured carburetor in my 1979 f250, 3/4 ton 4wd , 400. it now has a constant ringing at idle speed. it goes away when i accelerate but returns at idle speed.

I could be a vacuum leak. When you accelerate the vacuum decreases and at idle the vacuum is high. You may have a connection that was not replaced when the carb was changed.

I had a ringing carb recently. The choke thermostatic spring on the cover was not engaging the choke lever fork in the housing. The vibrating choke butterfly & mechanism was bouncing against the thermostatic spring and causing it to ring. The way it was installed it closed choke when cold but didn't open like it should.
