are you a redneck?
#32
100% redneck/rebel/cowboy here and proud of it.
i wear slim fit wranglers, flannel shirts, t shirts that support my favorite drivers and a hat that supports my favorite driver. i also wear a cowboy hat every once in a while.
i know gravel roads like the back of my hand. i keep a can of wd 40 in my toolboxes.
even though i fit the redneck stereotypes im pureblooded redneck, not just a wanna be/ could be. those wanna be people really **** me off. you're supposed to be who you are be proud of it. not try to be someone you aint.
look at my truck, the back window shows my pride(look in my gallery)

What to say??
Geez it's actually a very hard question! You see if you look at it from the stand point of "are you a Red Neck...IQ below 75" which is what the averge person thinks when they hear the word Red Neck, then no I wouldn't say I was a Red Neck. Now my Mother and Father were both born and raised in Sarah Mississippi...and the sign that says Sarah on it...says it on BOTH sides. That's how small the town was. So the roots are there and I live in Southern Idaho and I wear cowboy boots, Dickies and wear a cowboy hat AT TIMES, when I'm not in uniform...so what does that make me? I'd say I'm just a Good "ole" boy...I guess

I believe than ones redneckness is more a frame of mind and or set of beliefs. I mean, if yall want to label me some type of poser, or urban cowboy go ahead. It is a bit more than where one grew up. Now the reason I do not have land is well, I am in the military, and thus do not have the money nor time to own land. I guess you might say i am even more of a coonass than a redneck.....but oh well. Suit yourself. This 'urban cowboy' is here to stay. And at least I can say I have shucked corn, and ridden horses. Helped with the birth of a calf and gone cow tipping. And run full throttle to the fence from a herd of POed cattle

I certainly don't put wrangler jeans or cowboy in the same category as redneck. I also don't think a cowboy hat and wranglers males you a cowboy. I firmly believe that 'cowboy' is an attitude or a state of mind.

I consider my self a good ole country boy. I certainly dont consider myself a city slicker. I live on the outskirts of a large town were we ride tracters up and down the road for fun and use old lawn tractors in place of quads. Do I love my trucks oh ya, do I love my country/classic rock/southern rock but like other stuff at times also, oh ya. Do I prefer my levis, white t-shirt and flannel shirt tucked in with a flashlight hanging off my belt over preppy cloths, oh ya. Do I love a long hard day working at the local ford dealership oh ya. have I been known to were a coyboy hat and not care, yup! Do I prefer the simple life, heck ya!! Do I give two @#$% what people think/call of me, of course not!!
Being called a redneck and not caring: priceless

I saw the picture of the ultimate Redneck our initiator had in mind in an e-mail a friend received a couple of weeks ago. The pic is of a shirtless shur 'nuf redneck sittin' in the stands at a NASCAR race, with a big number 3 shaved into the hair of his back!
Is that a redneck? Ya dang rite!
