I'm looking to remove my stock seats and ad bucketts to my 2001 Ranger XLT. I want to use the center connsole from an explorer. Has anyone ever done this??? If so, any installation tips? Thanks
I also am doing this. I purchased leather seats from a '99 Explorer on E-bay and am now looking for a console. I am going tomorrow morning to look a two consoles at a local recycle yard. I haven't even received my seats yet so haven't started the install. Once I do I'll let you know if I have problems.
Mine is a "99 Ranger!
I've seen the buckets on Ebay go for less than 200.00. The consoles right around 50.00. Just remember, you got shipping on top of that more than likely.
I'm sure as long as you went with the 93-up seats and console, it would be a direct bolt in. I put a console out of a 2000 Ranger in my wifes 93 Explorer and it bolted right in.
As for junkyard prices; Be prepared to pay dearly! I wouldn't be surprised at 500.00 for the seats alone.
Is your truck a XLT? On my 96 it does have the plugin for power seats. But it might have come that way with my buckets. Both the Driver and Passenger side have lumbar and bolster support.
Let me know if your truck is a Ext Cab, XLT or not. I'll try and find out for you about the wiring harness.
Still trying to figure out hoe the console will bolt on. I currently have the 60/40 seats. Will there be a place under the carpet to bolt a bracket too??? As always....all input is appreciated.
