i put on a new holley carb, at start the idle is good, it starts high, then when i press the gas the idle droppes down to 1000 rpms. when i start driving thats when i start to see trouble, it wants to idle around 2000 rpms. i had the same problem before i replaced the carb. can anyone give me any suggestions? could a vacuum leak do this? i have one kinda loose fitting do you think that could be it?

a leak could cause that but usually it would be a constant high idle rpm and also your spring on the throttle cable could be worn out. put another helper springs to pull the throttle back to idle and you will have a good normal idle again.
